RECORD FOR” SATURDAY'S THROUGH CARGO!
HIGH CARGO RETURNS..
"The arrivals and departures dur. ing the week-end were very good and the general cargo returns far exceeded the average. Through freights on Saturday were "very high, and, it is believed, were a record entry.
Saturday's Figures, The shipping returns for the period ending at 9 am, on Satur day morning showed that there were twenty-one arrivals and eighteen departures. There were ten British arrivals and eight departures.
The cargo returns for Hong Kong were pood, and the through freights contributed what is thought to be a record, with. over $8,000 tons Local imports discharged from 19 vessels totalled 99,411 tons, of which 10,810 tons were contributed by nine British vessels. A British vessel was best carrier with 6,500 tons by the a.s. Shebornae from Los Angeles The 5.8. Amagisan Maru also discharged 3.500 tons of lime stone from Port Rodan.
Through freights were exceeding ly high and amounted to 67,448 tone Seven British ships carried 12,313 tons, while foreign vessels carried the remaining 39,133 tons. This shows an average of nearly
5,000 tons per vessal
Tho s.s. Tunace (German) was the best carrier with 9,000 tons of general cargo from Bremen and Manila, and the 4. Tanered (Norwegian), was second best with 8.788 tons from Oslo and Aden.

Yesterday's Statement. There were twenty-three arrivals and twenty-five departures for the period ending 9 a.m. yesterday and the general cargo returns although lower than the previous day's figures were very good. Through freights exceeded 20,000 toma.
General merchandias discharged for this port totalled 17,318 tona and five British ships contributed 5,247 tons. The s.s. Taisei Maru was the best carrier with 3,362 tons of coal from Sourabaya and Miike Through freights amounted to 31,185 tons, and six British vessels

Nine masters and steersmen of "RAJPUTANA cargo junks appeared before Com mander J. B. Newill at the Marine Court on Saturday morning for mooring their vessels inshore at a distance of less than 100 yards from the low water mark during the prohibited hours. L/Sergi.
