Frequent Eye-baths. "I began by asking clients to do very simple thing. Most people would be horrified at the idea of failing to clean teeth and mouth both night and morning. But the fact that they don't wash their eyes disturbs few otherwise 1 particular people. The cyca should be washed in an eye-bath every morning with water and a reliable eye lotion. I use one that was prescribed by competent doctor, and is therefore quite harmless.
Eyelids are of great importance in the external beautifying of the eyes. By judicious cosmetic treat ment they are made to enhance not only the colour but the expression of the eyes, and consequently of the whole face.
Three Shades Of Eyelid Oosmetics. "For blue eyes I use three shades of eyelid cometioi-green, grey, and true-blue." Whether this is applied in powder or paste form de pends on the habits of the client, Women who screw up their eyes & good deal must be treated with paste, as the wrinkling of the eyelid displters powder,

For my numerous Anglo-Italian and Anglo- Spanish clients I have a black and a blue-black cosmetic. Some Ameri- ean women, too, have the superb dark eyes for which these erelid colours are suitable.
To Prevent Dryness. "Lashes and brows should be treated every night with a little ointment, which must be harmless to the eyes, as the use of pencils tends to dry out the natural grease and lustre. But the ointment should be wasted off carefully in the (Continued on next Column),

Too many women darken their Inahes in a painfully obvious way. An Indienne tablet is the most antis- factory method. Moisten a clean brush, apply the ecametic, and let it dry. Then take another clean brush and remove the little pieces of cosmetic that may cling, to the inahes. It took me many years of epseriment to find an eyelash cor- metic that was really waterproof.

"For the eyebrows there are three pencils-light brown, foncé, and black. I never dye, inahes or brows, because I have been unable to discover one that does not make the hair brittle and tend to break." A finely pencilled line, imamed- iately below them throws sparse under-lashes into relief.. Nicely trimmed eyebrows are also an im provement. Heavy shaggy eyebrows ensily give a sombre and sinister expression if they are dark, while two alim, well-defined lines can give a patrician look."
