"Yesterday's cargo returns for | Empress of Russia, May 7th.. Hong Kong showed a big increase | Empress of Asia, May 14th. over the small figures of the past ew days. There were twenty ar- rivals and eighteen departures, and the through freights from only sven vessels were moderate. The East Asiatic Co., Copenhagen. total amount of cargo discharged for Hong Kong was 23,714 tons, and two British vessels contributed 5,339 tons. The French steamer 5.5. Campinas showed the 'best return with 3,101 tons from Saigon, follow. ed closely by the s.a. Kenda Castle (British) with 3,032 tons from New York and Cebu.
Through freights totalled 11,931 lens, and again only two British resuls carried through freight, amounting to 1,500 tons. The s.3. Carl Legien (German) showed the hest return with 3,388 tons, while the 3.5. Bingo Mars from Nagoya and Moji had 2,509 toas
