During the past week the local market has been very quiet and the volume of business put through has been on a smaller scale than for 'some time past. Whilst most of the favourite counters continue to find buyers at quotations, there has been very little doing in the speculative section and as a rule easier rates have prevailed.
Hong Kong and Shanghai Banka were dealt in at the outset at. $1,305 and $1,300, but have since lapsed to a nominal quotation. The London price has receded to £130" (middle), Unions strengthened in the early

China Lights (old) are saleable at 813 Hong Kong Electrics were put through at 71. Telephones have been the medium of business at £1.85/$4.75. Green Island Cements (continued) are obtainable at $10.40,
