seven departures during the Antenor, May 3rd. hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday and Meriones, May 9th Patructus, May 18th. the general freights manifested for drasti, May 21st, Hong Kong were above the average.Hicienus, May 22nd. General cargo carried through for parts beyond the Colony, were very heavy.
The local imports amounted to 17,239 tons, and Ave British vessels contributed 4,991 tons, of which the 5. Glentara from London and Singapore discharged 1,700 tons of general cargo.
The remainder was from eight foreign vessels, of which the s.3. Mundaria Maru from Karatsu and Mike had 5,903 tons of coal. The 5.5. Mu Lee (Chinese) had 2500 tons from Saigon. Through freights totalled 30,041 tons, and seven British vessels carried 12,358 tons.
The best cargo was shown by the British vessel Glentuce with 6,020 tons from Shanghai. The second best carrier was from the "Dutch steamer Timunock with 5,088 tons from Sourabaya ank Amoy."

CHINESE SEAMEN TO THE RESCUE.

When the cry was raised on board the Star Ferry Meridian Star on Sunday evening that a Chinese passenger had gone overboard two Chinesa sexmen at once plunged into the water to the rescue, They found the victim, a young Chinese widow of 4, Kwong Mui Terrace, Happy Valley, and held her up till the launch had been pot about and the three wore hauled on board. The woman was taken to the Kwong Wah Hospital'
