There were eighteen arrivals and twenty fght departures during the [91 hours ended at .. yesterday. The General fraights for the port, although lower than the previous day, were good. Through cargoes also decreased on the previous day's
total.

General cargoes discharged for Hong Kong amounted to 17,375 tons and four British vessels contribut ed 4.488 tons. The two best returns were from the 3.5. Yoshida Maru with 4,683 tons from Wakamatsu and Mike, and the 8.3. Clara Jebaon from Port Campha and Heihow with 2,829 tons of coal.
Through freights were normn! and totalled 18,470 tons. Three British steamers were responsible for 11,29% tons. The British vessel Menelaus was the best carrier with 10,143 tons from Liverpool and Singapore, and the 8. Hon Inlu Mary was second best with 4,430 tons of general cargo from Bombay and Singapore.

One of the best known ships in Hong Kong Harbour, H.M.S.
rose loft for England yesterday morning at about 10:30 am. With her were six submarines the L., fd, L.5, L. and L.8. Crews of war- ships in the harbour gave the de-. parting flotilla very hearty send off, many crackers being fired. H.M.S. Ambrose which is commanded by Comdr. A. Poland, R.N., has been on the station over eight years n aubmarine parent ship. A farewell dance was given on board on Tues- day evening.
