I am directed by His Excellency The Governor to forward for the information of the Honorable the Major General, the accompanying Copy of a letter from the Naval Commander-in-

Chief to His Rxcellency, having reference to the protection afforded by the

Colonial Police to the Naval Stores at West Point, since the withdrawal

of

the Troops from thence, and as the health of the Troops is now much improved, and the Garrison increased by a large reinforcement from England,
