LONDON, Feb. 7th. Lord Atkinson has resigned his office as a Lord of Appeal in "Or- dinary,
Sir James R. Atkin, one of the Lords Justices of Appeal, has in consequence been appointed a Lord- of Appeal in Ordinary, and Mr. Justice Bankey a Lord Justics of Appeal
Lord Atkinson, who is 83, has been a Lord of Appeal since 1905. He was formely Attorney-General for Ireland und Conservative M.P. for Londonderrys
Lord Justice Atkin, who is 61, became a barrister in 1801. He gained a very big practice in com mercial cases, and when he was made a judge in 1913, at the age of 48, he was the youngest judgo on the Bench. He was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal in 1910 Mr. Justico Sankey, who is 62,
was made a judge in 1914. He pre- sided over the famous Coal Indus try Commission in 1919. He is very fond of walking.
