Now I reflect with tears, that I did not return to this Colony as a runaway criminal, but as one, who amidst the dangers of wind and waves, relying the
mercy of supreme heaven, raised from the dead I have now fallen sick in prison,

and have no means to attend to the disease. There remains, therefore nothing, but to confide in Your Stonour's goodness, and humbly to
beseech
you
to make the case
known to the High Authorities, that they may imitate the condescending mercy of God, and shew extrandinary favor, by setting
me at liberty, to recover from my sickness and Lave my wretched life, and

Thus I repair before the tribunal of Your Honour, that you may grant me the favour of setting me at liberty, and
