ELIMINATE CHASSIS
NOISES.
SILENT-RUNNING ENGINĖS.
Designers of motor cars powered :by an exceptionally quiet type of engine have ear-body problems to solve which are not so important to builders of cars that use a power piant that makes mough noise to drown out body sounds.
So, quiet is the operation of the Knight sleeve value engine that all body noises must be eliminated as there is no engine noise to cover them. Willys Knight, engineers are vitally interested in the elimination of evin minor body noises for they know that with all body noises eliminated they can offer a car that runs absolutely quietis.
in commenting on this problem of eliminating all noises from the chassis and body, Mr. A. J. Baker of the Willys Overland plant in Toledo, Ohio, U. S. A., said:
Poppet valve motors sooner ue Inter develop mechanical noises us the result of wear and constant use, and these noises, drown out or denden chassis or body notes With the Knight sleeve valve motor it is different since it operates as smoothly and silently after montbe and years of service as it did on the day it was delivered from the factory.

LAST WORD IN CRIME.
TERRIBLE AMERICAN
MURDER.
FLINT (MICHIGAN), Jan. 17th. Adolph Hotelling, a keen church- man and father of five children, reputed to have led a blameless life, has been arrested and charged with. a shocking crime.
It is alleged that ho has con fessed to having kidnapped a five year old school girl named Dorothy Schmeider and dissected her in the woods. The girl's mother actually saw her daughter abducted from the verandah of their home by a rough- looking man, who carried off the child in a motor-car.
The police and friends of the family scoured the woods through out the night and eventually found the mutilated remains of the child.

The troops, with the aid of tear gas bombs, finally dispersed the
crowd.
Hotelling was recently appointed to a new office, at the local church. It is alleged that he has confessed that there was no motive behind the crime except that the Hickmann case preyed on his mind,
