There were 10,198 tons of mer-Wity of "Adelaide, Feb. 18th. chandise for Hong Kong, of which four British steamers contributed 6,220 tons. The two best returns. were shown by the British ships Anating, from San Pedro, and the Borneo, from Haiphong and Swa tow. The former had 3,400 tons and the latter carried 430 tons.

Through fraights amounted to $1,870 tons. There was only one British contributor, which cani fested 991 tons. The two best re- turns were 6,000 on the s.s. Kina from Copenhagen and Sabang, and 3,700 tons on the s.s. Thitaroem, from Dairen and Amoy,

Marine Court.

Mr. Grem, master of the ss Ichang, was fined 820 at the Marine Court yesterday morning by Com mander G. F. Hole, for carrying more than 12 passengers in excess of what was permitted. by his licence.

Two Chinese who were found on board the St. Albons without per- mission were each fined 810 or ten days' hard labour.
