The Royal Air Force succeeded in beating the Civil Service Cricket Club on their opponents' ground by 30 runs. Low scoring was the feature of the match and "F/Lt. Several interesting lawn bowls matches were played on, Saturday in Kowloon, the chief event being the final of the Spey Royal Cup over Cricket Club (last year's Competition in which the Craigen- winners) had their colours lowered by Taikoo

A match in the Open Singles Championship series was played at the Bowling Green Club for the third and fourth prizes. Russell and Holland were again in the tie. Last year Holland beat Russell to fourth place. On Saturday Russell reversed the position by defeating Holland by eight points; 21-13.

The Club de, Recreio celebrated the closing of their green for the season with an "at home" and rink games against four visiting teams. The visitors lost on all but one rink where the winning margin was a single point. At the close of a very enjoyable afternoon the prizes won in the Club competi tions during the year were present- ed by Miss Lolita de Souza, the daughter of the President of the Club.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 5th, 1927. SATURDAY'S BOXING TOURNAMENT. BENNETT WINS WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. MAIN BOUT DISAPPOINTING BUT WENT FULL DISTANCE.

The thirty-sixth boxing tournament under the auspices of the Hong Kong Boxing Association was held on Saturday night at the Theatre Royal when thirty-five rounds out of the scheduled forty- five were fought.

The chief event was between A.B. Bennett and Gor. Hornsey who met in a fifteen-round contest for the Welterweight Chain--- pionship of the Colony and a Belt presented by the Medical Pro- fession of Hong Kong As a main event, this bout was not up to the usual standard.

The other bouts also lacked interest. The hitting power of the contestants was below par and there was no knock-out throughout the evening's performance, though three bouts failed to go the full- distance. The best fight was that between Hume and Shons. This was in the lightweight class and provided the spectators with a thrilling display of first class boxing, Hume has made rapid pro- gress since his last appearance, and should develop into a good boxer.
