were

One is naturally tempted at this juncture to devote most of one's space to Interport affairs but Local Cricket must not be entirely neg lected. No League games played on Saturday last, but there were several interesting friendlies.

The Civil Service had rather a day out as both De Rome and Wood got centuries against the C.R.C. The match was, however, drawn us they could not get the Chinese out in time to win. The game was in- teresting as it marked the debut of Taui Wai Pui who is the eldest son' of that stand-by of the H.K.C.C. whom hundreds of past and present cricketers refer to familiarly us "Tadpole." The youngster did not have very much luck in this game, but I know enough of his cricket to say that he will be making quite a lot of runs and taking a lot of wickets soon. He spins. the ball well from the off, but must not try to bowl too fast.

A weak side of the PA.F. got badly beaten on the Indians' ground | by their "A" team, while Kowloon at home beat the Gainers by 44 runs. A good deal of interest, at tached to this mateb in so piuch as Barrett and Leach of Shanghai were

Hong Kong Weekly Press

PUBLISHED TO-DAY

THE HONG KONG WEEKLY PRESS, PUBLISHED TO DAY, CONTAINS FULL REPORTS OF THE ARMISTICE DAY CELEBRATIONS AND OF THE ANNUAL DINNER OF THE EX-ACTIVE SERVICE MEN'S ASSOCIATION.

The political situation in Canton is of particular interest. The WEEKLY describes the disbanding of the strikers' organisation and the gradual diminution of the boycott.

Following many conferences and rumours of possible conflicts General Li Tsi-bsin and Mr. Wong Ching-wei, ultimately left Canton on Wednesday for Shanghai. General Chang Fat-fui had previous y come to Hong Kong ́on a visit and the supposition was that all differences bad been settled and that the South was to enjoy a period of peace.

These expectations were rudely shattered yester- day by the reports of fighting between rival troops in Canton.

The WEEKLY is the paper to send Home to keep friends and business associates in touch with the constantly changing conditions in this part of the world.
