SATURDAY'S LEAGUE MATCHES.
ANOTHER "HIGH SCORING DAY: HOME TEAM SUCCESSES »
Saturday proved another high scoring day, in the English Foot- ball League matches, for, although the goals netted did not quite come up to the previous week's total, they were only five short of that figure. The previous week 15 goals were scored, and on Saturday 179.
The highest scoring was in Division I, where both home and away teams netted the same number in the total for that division. Away teams scored one less than home teams in Division II., and two less in Division III. Southern.
Division III. (Northern) was notable for the number of home team wins. Out of ten matches played nine were won on home grounds, the home teams scoring 33 goals against the others 7...
There has been little material change in the League positions. In Division I., the leaders are the same. The Arsenal have improved their position. The highest score was obtained by Huddersfield,
Chelsea are securely on top in Division II, and Stoke and Bristol City have gone above Manchester City-
In Division III. (Southern) Plymouth have supplanted Norwich City, but the leaders remain as before.
In Division III. (Northern) Bradford Citý stood out as the team netting the most goals in the whole of the League. They scored
ine against Nelson's one.
