Comparatively few vessels arrived! here during the 24 hours ended at Da.m. yesterday and consequently the freight returns were lower than

suk.

The Colony's imports amounted to 4,208 tons, 2,940 tons being brought by two British atcamera, The only four-figure return shown by the as Tran, from Ea phong and Hoihow.

Through freights" amounted to 3,117 tons, carried by four vessels. Two British ships brought D64 tons. The s.s. Porthos (French), from Marseilles and Saigon, was the heaviest contributor. She carried

Office, noted the many changes that City of Pekin, Dec. 24th. had taken place since his departure from Hong Kong, and also renewed acquaintanceship with the office staff.

Surveying. Beacons. The Naval Authorities have given notice at the Harbour Office that beacons for surveying purposes have been laid in the following positions:-(A) La 81 52 N. Long. 113 44 E. (B) Lat, 91° 62 N.; Lang. 113° 49′ E.

A Changed Nams, The ss. Hangchow, a Chinese steamer, arrived here in ballast from Macao yesterday. This vessel was formerly the Kwong Fat Yuen.
