There was not a large, but a very appreciative audience si St. John's Cathedral last evening, when an- other organ recital was given by Major E. J. Barkham,

During the recital a collection was taken on behalf of the Cathedral Organ Fund.

Major Barkman's programme in- cluded part of the overture to the Lobgesang (Mendelssohn); Bach's Toccata and Fugue in A Minor: Alpine Sketch" and "Solitude, both from the compositions of Cyril Scott; and Pilgrims March from Tannhauser" (Wagner),

Mr. Frank Austin also gave two solos which were thoroughly enjoy ed "It is enough" (Mendelssohn) and "Lord God of Abraham (Mendelssohn).

The Second Attack,

The Club, it may be remembered.) was formed with three objects, first to uphold and further the cause of Christian manhood; secondly, to deepen the spiritual life and power of its members; thirdly, to band Christians together in a common effort to promote the glory of God and to help forward the work of the St. Peter's Church. Coupled with this is the desire to promote op- portunity for fellowship and to foster a spirit of brotherhood among its members.

Although the Club is only eight | months old, it has done a great deal already and has firmly estab lished itself in the life of the Colony.

One of the Club's great aims is to be friendly and helpful to those who are physically afflicted. It was nat very long ago that the inmates of the Kowloor Blind Home for girls were given a day's outing at Shek-O. The happy time spent in the sunshine and the fragrance of the hillside will no doubt be long remembered by the blind girls. They were also much touched, by the friendly spirit which prompted the St. Peter's Club members to devote a day solely to their enter- ❘tainment

Always to the fore in doing good, the St. Peter's Clab is holding a fete, on November 13th in the grounds of the Club's premises in a new division of the St. John aid of funds to enable them to form

Ambulance Brigade, also for the re- pair of the St. Peter's Church and to give the Kowloon blind girls a Christmas treat.

A now division of the Ambulance Brigade will be really useful in the Colony. Accidents are aften occur ring in the streets and people efficiently trained to render first aid are often able to save suffering and even life.

Funds are needed and in order to give something for something," the fete is being organised. There will be plenty of attractions among them a miniature rifle range where shots at a nominal charge will yield). successful marksmen very useful little trophies. Two handsome silver cups have been kindly presented by. some gentleman who would remain anonymous.

A visit to the fete at No. 1 Oak- land's Path on November 13th can be warmly recommended. No matter whether you spend tea cents or $100, you will have a good return for your money and know that, the proceeds are going to good causes.

The St. Peter's Club. is working for the betterment of the young people of the Colony and, there- fore, is deserving of support.
