THROUGH CARGOES EXCEPTIONALLY HEAVY.

LOCAL IMPORTS NORMAL.

The week-end freight returns showed that cargoes for ports be- yond the Colony during the 21) hours ended at 9 a.m. on Saturday were exceptionally heavy. Local imports during the week-end, how- ever, remained normal.

Saturday's Statement. Out of arrivals, seventeen vessels discharged here. The total | Jachnen, Nov. 28th amount of merchandise unloaded

was 17,20 tons. Of these, 8,334 tons were contributed by seven British ships.

The two best returns were 3.400 tons on the 8.9. Malay Mary, from Tsingtan, and 2,500 tens by the Gentarn from London and Singu pore.

Through cargoes which were on the manifests of thirteen steamers gave a total of 40,123 tous. Sevent British vessels were responsible for

10,748 tons.

The heaviest carriers, however were one French and one Japanese vessels. The 5.3. Si-kiong, from Dunkirk and Saigon contributed | 8.151 tons, and the Durban Maru

carried 7,193 tons from Liverpool and Singapore.

Yesterday's Returns.

The returns for the 21 hours end- ed at a.m. yesterday showed a normal entry of freights both for the Colony and for ports beyond.

Local imports amounted to 13,759 tons, of which, 4.500 tons were from six British ships. The two best returns were shown by the Emil Kirdorf and the s.3. Tuen Sung. The former vessel arriving from Shanghai had 3,740 tons. and the fatter ship from Sabattik had 3,100

tons...

Through freights, totalled 12,639 tons of which two British steamers accounted for 2,560 tons. The two best returns were 4,603 tons and 3,379 tons. The former lot was on the 6.5. Batavia Mur from Tawno, and the latter on the mit Kirkdurf, from Shanghai.

The following notices to mariners have "been issued by the local au- thorities dredging operations and a change in the buorage plan.

Under authority "conferred. by Section 2 (3) of Ordinance No. 10 of 1899-It is hereby notified that on and after Friday, 21st October, 1927, and until further notice dredging operations will be car- ried out of Taim-sha tsui, Kowloon Point in да ares bounded as follows:-

North Boundary: Latitude 22° 19′ 00 N.

South Boundary": Latitude. 114° 172_307 N. A

East Boundary: Long 114°

E.

West Boundary: Long 114° 8' 33" E.

Masters of all vessels are to pro- ceed at a speed not greater than five knots when approaching and in the vicinity of this area and are not to pass between the dredger and her anchor buoys.
