The report that General Ho Chin's troops endeavoured to disarm 1,300 troops who were travelling from Hangchow to Lung. hua Arsenal is somewhat surprising, as the Arsenal, being in the neighbourhood of Shanghai, presumably still belongs to the One South, with whose cause General Ho has been identified. should, of course, not be surprised at anything that takes place in connection with China's far-dang war. For example, it is not at all surprising that the fighting near Lunghua should be, as is reported, preceded by a "two hours parley." But one must also confess to a feeling of mild surprise that the General in wham Reds" and "Moderates" put so much faith when the Hankow Marshal Chiang Kai Shek gave them their quietus, should now on his own.
