The Dragons and the the progress of baseball in the Japanese had done much to help Colony. In conclusion, the speaker thanked the Lai Wah Company for presenting the shield for this year's League. Ryan sent in two hot shots which were cleared. Then a dropping shot by Smith beat Pau but Lai Yuk Tat cleared from the goal line with the Northants appealing.

The game was a ding dong strug- gle and it was left to Wong Pas Chong to open the score after one houg's play when Tso dropped in from the wing and Wong beaded the ball into the net. From the centre kick the Northants took up the attack, but found Pau sale.

In the next minute Suen received unmarked and gave Hall no chance to save. This woke up the Chinese crowd. Crackers were fired on the goal lines and hats thrown in the air. The military team were not downhearted and tried hard to get on terms but the final whistle found them defeated in a good sporting 36.50 game by two goals to mil.

The success of the Chinese Ping Pong team of six, who visited Japan a few months ago, has undoubtedly created much greater enthusiasm amongst local players. Still more encouraging is the fact that since the recent Olympic held in Shang- bai, when exhibition Ping Pong matches were played between China and Japan resulting in a win for. the latter, suggestions have been made for the inclusion of "Ping Pong" as one of the Championship events.
