A Target For Soldiers. The Central China Post (Han- kow) of September 1st reporta:—'

The 3.5. Shas arrived in port yesterday and reports, as we fenced, having been made a target by southern soldiers below Wuhi. The firing commenced thirteen miles above Nanking at a place called Hehshansan Bin and continued from 2,30 till the steamer arrived in Wuhu at foar olclock. The ride 30re was of the same concentrated character as favoured the Antwor and Siany bit fortunately no one was wounded. From Yuhu the firing again continued against the rese, as she left the port. The whole outrage was obviously de liberate.

A Chinese woman, about years of age, is reported to have fallen overboard, on Saturday morning, frme the Man On, the Hong Kong Mangkok ferry, and to have been drowned. Her body was not recovered.
