FAIR CARGOES ALL ROUND.

JAPANESE VESSELS BEST CARRIERS.

The return for the 24 hours ended at ab. yesterday showed that with 12 vessels arriving into port. freights imported for the Colony and for other ports were fair. Japanese vessels were the best car

riers.

cargoes amounted 13,441 tons. These were carried by nine steamers. There was only one British vessel.contributing to the total of the freights unloaded hers. She was the ss. Chip Shing from Tientsin and Chefoo which brought

2,090 tons.

The best return was, however shown by 'Japanese steamer-the Kenkyu Maru, from Wakamatsu and Chinwangtao, which brought 9,430 tons into the Colony,

Through cargoes were manifested by Ave steamers and amounted to 12.244 tons. The two best returns being 1,812 tons and 3,000 tons. There were brought by the as Saarland, from Hamburg And Singapore and the President Jeffer

un, from "Los Angeles and Soing- hai, respectively.
