The freight returns for the 24 bours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday showed that cargoes entered for the Colony and carried fer other ports wore normal, with British vessels carrying about 50 per cent. of the total freight.

The Turbo from San Francisco carried 8,300 tons of fuel cil for the A.P.0., discharging at North Point and the Canada Maru, from Japan; had on board 500 cases (25 tons) of calcium carbide. The Oakbank (British) arriving from Philadelphia, brought 8,500 cases of kerosene, and 185, drums of recti- fed alcohol.· ́

As announced on Monday, the aircraft carrier Argus has arrived. from the North on being relieved by the Hermes. It is now under stood that the Hermes will probably be proceeding home in the near future for rent, and will then be seat out again and permanently at- tached to the China Station.
