BIAS BAY PIRATES AGAIN,
RUTHLESS ATTACK ON NORWEGIAN
SHIP.
CAPTAIN AND SECOND MATE SERIOUSLY WOUNDED.
BULLION AND CARGO TO VALUE OF 530,000 STOLEN.
GRAPHIC ACCOUNTS BY SHIPS OFFICERS.
After remaining dormant for about three months following the British maval raid on their lair the Blas Bay piratas again brought off a asnational attack, this time on a Norwegian steamer, the "Solviken," which was on her way to Saigon.
The pizatas boarded the steamer at Hong Kong posing as passengers, and when the vessel was about 130 miles from this port they captured the ship, dangerously wounding the captain in the process. The second officer was also shot, but his wounds were not so serions.
The "Solviken" was taken to Bias Bay early yesterday morning when the Chief Oompradore and seven passengers were kid- napped. Two boxes of gold bars and other valuables, amounting in. all to $30,000, were takenlaway by the robbers.
The pirates were quite considerate as regards the personal property of the oficers and crew. They were described as "good.. bad men by the Chief Officer, Mr. Konow. Everything belong- to the officers and crew was left untouched except a gramophone belonging to the captain, which attracted a musically inclized pirate, but be overlooked the records.
We were informed late last night that the Captain of the Solviken was going on as wall as could be hoped.
OFFICERS' GRAPHIC STORY.
The Norwegian steamer Solviken was attacked and captured by about. fifteen pirates at 5 a.m. on Wednes
day morning. She left here for Saigon as soon on July 19th, and had touched at no. part. The pirates had, therefore, boarded the xesriat Hong Kong.
