FENG YU HSIANG ADVANCING ON HANKOW.

HIS OBJECTIVE THE HANYANG ARSENAL?

TANG SENG CHI REPUDIATES **RED" GOVERNMENT,

DECLARATION OF ANKUOCHUN POLICY BY CHANG TSO LIN,

-JUNK EXPLOSION NEÁR NANKING.

According to information from native sources Feng Yu Heiang has abandoned his march on Peking and is advancing rapidly on Hankow. Tung Seng Chi, with the 4th and 11th Armies, has retreated, and the former "Red" Commander-in-Chief has tele- graphed to Feng disowning the Hankow Government and proclaim- ing his hostility to the Reds. It is expected that the two will come to some agreement. Possibly such remnants of the "Red" forces · that remain in Hankow may put up a resistance under the leader- ship of the Russian General Callen.

Feng's motive for attacking Haskow is said to be his desire to seize the important Hanyang Arsenal, which would greatly add to the atrength of his personal position.

News arrives of a minor, but very terrible incident, near Nanking. Two junks laden with explosives have blown up causing over 100 casualties. The mishap was probably due to carelessness on the part of the junk crews.
