At the coinmencement of the first (for Movies) Mr. Fontes wount made for home and threw Jus rider who sustained a nasty cut

This į was a very he performance and a spirit of this sort augurs well for the inure of Macuo -Novices who should very quickly be able to carry on without the assistance of Hong Koug jockeys.

The second race was a good one providing a fine finish hetween Loongwa and Shunghai Friend, the former winning by a head.

The finish of the third race was also thrilling Clemmerin, well rid. den by Mr. Y. M. Loo, snatched a victory by a short head.

Wachang, Hankow peny, won the fourth race with ease. This is a very expable animal and should he rarefully followed.

The fifth race provided another thrilling spectacle Tap Sinc and Lucky Star dead heating after a gruelty finish.

Shan Mein (Chun up) won the sixth race by a short head from Shanghai Friend thus adding to the excitement of the meeting.

Dr. Margowan's Sunburst won the seventh race by half a length from Baccarat ju surprising fashion. This was Hong Kong's first victory and rewarded his buckers with $38.70.

The eighth rage was a straggling one as the ponies were unevenly matched. Macao Beauty won by many fengals with the field a long way behind.

Mr. Pollock added Lo Hong Kong's score in the ninth race by bringing in Soapy Sponge against a strong feld. He heat Dragon Bout by the narrow margin of a neck with Glenmerin half a length

The last race saw the biggest field of the day and the winner provided the biggest dividend (878.60). Mr. Sewell's mount got ahead of The Regent by a short head with Yuen Sin only half a length behind.
