This is the fourth record broken at the Meeting. On Monday War- renfeld did the mile in the Tsing tan, Handicap in 1 minute 59.4-5 acconds, the previous record being Pennyfield's 2 minutos second. On Tuesday Mr. Toeg's Sceptre did the seven furlongs in the Pari- Mutuel Cup in 1 minute 44.25 seconds. The previous record was 1 minute 46.2-b8cconds by Brockton, Homefield and Borderland. There was also a record time for the Champions race on Wednesday by New Zealand.

The other feature of Saturday'a racing was the defeat of Old Bill in the Shanghai Grand National Steeplechase. Previous to this Old Bill, who came in second on Satur day, had won the race (twice a | year) on four successive occasions. Some years ago Old Bill won twice, and has been placed a number of Limes. Coppermine (owned by Messrs. Torg and Maitland) was placed second at the two previous meetings to this one.
