His Lordship Speculates. Mr. Justice McCardio, summing up, described the case as a strange one, which anade one ask what was the object of marriage. He thought himself that the aim of those who joined in a matrimonial alliance was that there should be affection, respret, tenderness, and mutual help. Miss Morris had said that at the time she wished to marry Mr. Fowler ahe had lost all affor- tion for him, but that she would have insisted on marrying him, even though she knew he was in love with Mrs. Cassini.
