Yesterday's Reports. Inward cargoes were heavier than through freights as shown by the returns during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday. There were 18,832 tons discharged here, with 4,212 lons from three British vessels.
The two beat returns were regis- tered by the as. President McKi- ley, from Seattle and Shanghai, and the s.. Huichew, from Tian- tsin. The former vessel accounted for 3,123 tons and the latter, 2,000 tons.
Through freights amounted to 15,437 tons. Of these, 3,459 tona were manifested by three British steamers.
The two best returns were 7,705 tons and 3,500 tons. The former
werd on the 5.8. Hakone Maru arriving here from Middlesborough and Singapore and the latter on the President McKinley, from, Seattle and Shanghai.
There were in all 30 arrivals and 44. departures during the period under review. BAILINGS TO SHANGHAI AND JAPAN
A big quantity of opium was seized by Revenue Officers on Satur day afternoon. The contraband was hidden at the back of the furnaces on board the s.s. Autang. and was destined for the Straits. Revenue Officers boarded the ship just before she sailed and thirteen bags of dope" were found and MIRZAPORETM taken ashore. No arrests have been made.
