A comprehensive "review of the past rear's activities of the Hong Kong Automobile Association, was given at yesterday's annual.general meeting held in the Board Room of Messrs. During the past year H. E. the Governor honoured the Association by very kindly consenting to become a patron. During the year 106 new members joined the Association, which is satisfactory; but there are very many owners who have not yet done so and in view of the work done

At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor C. A. Middleton-Smith proposed a vote of thanks to the re Biring President (the Hon. Mr. D. G. M. Bernard). He said the gen eral committer owed mugh to the interest shown by Mr. Bernard.
It had been very interesting to him as n.tech.ient man. to hear the President's remarks on buses and 'tranis. He had noticed throughout Mis technical eareer that it was generally the case that progress was made through ontroversy. There was nothing like controversy "to stimulate intereat, He did att think there were more controversial people in the world than technical

Continuing, the speaker said the great hope of technical people was to get the power of being able to store electricity in their car they did petrol, and run their cars- by this means.
