EDISON'S TEST FIFTY YEARS. AGO.

NURSERY RHYMES.

A cumbersome instrument made of cast-iron and weighing nearly one hundredweight was the first phono- graph, invented by Edison nearly fifty years ago. A replica of longs to Mr. Heary Edmunds, a London engineer, who bas kept it for many years in the attic of his house at foulscombe, Brighton.
