The Rev. G. T. Waldegrave gave an extremely interesting address dealing with the principles that guide this great Order. He explained how the necessity for "inger mysteries" had been recognised in Ancient Egypt and in Greece and in these times, as to-day, among Freemasons, these hidden things were only revealed to those who had served their novitiate and proved their worth. Hending the procession, was the District Grand Master of the English Constitution, Mr. J. Oven Hughes. There were also present Mr. J. M. MeHutchon, Deputy Dis. tries Grand Master of the English Order, and Mr. E. J. Edwarda, hold ing the same udice in the Scottish Order.

It does not lie in the capacity of every craftsman to become a lead- ing master of his art. The young apprentice at times finds difficulty in grasping the why and wherefore of the art, and because progress is but slow he loses heart and giv ing up departs in disappointment. Others, from some inherent failing stigmatise as useless the which they themselves have marred. If they could but perceive it, not the craft but the craftsman is at fault. The spiritual meaning of Masonry is at first not easy to perceive and only by patient continuance in the search can any brother hope st. toin to that perception.
