Sunday's Statement. During the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. on Sunday, the total amount of general cargo brought into Hong Kong was 8,858 These were con- tributed by three steamers. Through cargoes amounted to 1,333 tote, which were manifested on 2 ressels. During this period, there, was only one British arrival, and she was in ballast.

Yesterday's Returas,

The returns made to the Harbour Ofice during the 24 hours ended at 9am. yesterday, showed that 18,513 tons of general cargo were brought|| into Hong Kong.

Of these, 7,794 tons were landod from British ateamers The two best returns were shown by the as Calcutio Maru, from Kobe and Iloilo, which brought 3,034 teas, and the Tibodas (Dutch), 2,005 tons from Manila and Sourabaya.

Through cargnes were manifested on ten vessels. The total amount carried was 12,537 tous, of which, 1,432 tons were оп 2. British

The total number of deck passen- gers entering into the Colony dur- ing the 48 hours ended at 9 am yesterday was 1,847.

The ss. Anking (British) on a voyage to Hong Kong from Singa- pore vid Amoy, reported the death of one male child from pneumonia on February 18th The deceased was buried at sea.

A curicus sound phenomenon dur ing the heavy fog of Friday zad Saturday, was reported by Capt. MacKay, of the 6.a. Tiondari. The Waglan fog signal was easily heard at five miles, but could not be heard at two miles.

SHIPPING MOVEMENTS.

The Ben Line 3.5. Benavon, frem Middlesbro', Antwerp. London, Straits and Philippines, is due to arrive here on March 2nd.

The R.M.S. Empress of Ana ar rived at Nagasaki at 7 a., on Sunday and left at 3 p.m., that day. She was due at Shanghai at 5 p.m. yesterday and leaves Shanghai to- day at 12.30 p.m..

The N.D.La. Trier is expect ed to arrive here at 4 p.m. to-day (Tuesday), and will sail for Shang- hai and Japan to-day at 8 pm/
