Benson was reached on Saturday when important matches were play ed in both divisions.

Kowloon and Civil Service, both hitherto undefeated, met on the formar ground to decide who should take the lead in the first division. Much interest contred in the match. The Home. Team had two points in hand to spare and could not, therefore, have afforded to lose. Civil Service, on the other hand, could only lead the table by winning. Kowlosa, however, settled all doubts by beating Civil Service in convincing manner and are at présent in a very comfortable posi Aion as regards winning the Shield

In the second division the Indians. and Police went through a similar ordeal: Both teams started on equal terms and a draw would have meant another match to be played. The Indians, however, asserted them- selves on their own ground and won .by 47.runa,

There were several other interest- ing league matches. The Royal Navy had the better a. Craigengower, as expected, while W. Hyde (Kowloon 2nd XI) had the distinction of being the first batsman to compile a century in a second division maten. The Royal Navy second wou their match against the University! and, the Hong Kong Oricket Club second secured their first win this

Batting, on the whole, continued to be good and there werę, many high individual scores. There were also a few good bowling perform- saees of which Goodwin's (BCC) B wickets for 29 runs and Lieut.- Comdr. Beatty & for 95 runs were i "the best in the first division and Wales (H.K.C.C.) 5 for 22 runs and Swift's (Tamar) 8 for 66 FUDA were the best in the second division, The scores of the different matches follow:-
