Out of the twelve arrivals, eight steamers carried through freights. The total amount of general cargo on the eight carrying steamers was Fogtland, due to-morrow. 14,335 tons, of which, 8,428 tons were on British vessels.

The .. Patroclus (British) from Liverpool and Singapore topped the list with 7,588 tons and the next best carrier was the President Taft with 500 tons from San Francisco and Shanghai.

The arrivals and departures. dur ing the 48 hours ended at 9am. yesterday were: British, 10 arrivals and 10 departures; Dutch, 4 ar- rivals; American, 2 arrivals; Nor- wegian, 3 arrivals and 1 departure; Japanese, 8 arrivals and i depar- ture Chinese, 3 arrivals and g departures; Swedish, 1 arrival, and German, I arrival.

SHIPPING MOVEMENT.

The motor vesael Chinese Prince, fiom New York, sailed from Shang- hai, on the 2nd inst., and is expect- ed to arrive here to-morrow, (Sâtur- day) at daylight.
