I am to acquaint you that Lord Grey has regretted my having to inform you that, in consequence of your protracted illness and the delays which would have arisen from it, it has been found necessary to suspend your contemplated appointment of Superintendent of Convicts in Western Australia, and his Lordship much therefore considers the letters addressed to you on this subject as cancelled.
