I am told that he won an Interport Cricket match in Shanghai with his cheery countenance. It was, I believe, in 1993 when Hong Kong was very much up against it with a fairly weak team and a strained look on the face of their Captain would have killed their confidence. Maude will deplore his untimely end and sympathise most sin terely with his relatives in their great

loss.
