The engine broke down again several times, but the crews' efforts to repair it succeeded each time. After nearly three months of alternate progress and drifting the men at last saw the outline of distant land which, they found to be the island of Mindanao.

The survivors are Kho Ko Leng. Netanel Lindong, captain, Joenux Simoes, Fales Napo, Charlies. Bopang, Willem Katiandagho. Kho Ko Leng, soon after arriving in Manila, cabled his father. It is under- stood that an exchange of cables has been made between the governor general's office there and the governor general of the Dutch East Indies for the return of Mon. 138 14 the survivors. The Dutch consulate is extending help to them, while customs Tax 14m officials are arranging for their return to Celebes.
