SECOND ROUND OF THE ENGLISH

CUP,

NO SURPRISES. {TEROUGE HEUTER'S AGENOT.)

LONDON, December 11th. The Second Round of the English Cup K.O.S.B.'S WIN ON THE GARRISON was played on Saturday, There were no surprises, with the possible exception of Rhyl defeating Wrexham.

Carlisle, Bedlington a Ashington 9, Nelson 1. Southport 2 Crook 0.

The incident occurring on the South Chins ground in the game between the R.A. and Hong Kong Police will be the subject of an official enquiry by the H.K.F.A. Seldom has a captain taken the step of marching his team off the field owing to a decision of the referee not meeting with his approval. A similar incident occurred about thirteen seasons ago in a game between the RA. and R.E.. Probably the proximity of the playing pisches within the racecourse had some- thing to do with the action of the RA. captain. At the time there were. four matches in progress about ten yarda separating the various pitches. Whistles were continually sounded and players of. teams not affected, often pulled up. Leach heard the whistle go when Wynne handled and placed the ball for a free kick, but when the referee ordered the be taken by the Police, Leach was kick astounded and amidst protests left the. feld with the K.A team. The referee did not see the incident of Wynne handling owing to his position on the field and it was a drastic step for the BL.A. captain to take:
