In the 28 of March 09, the GOO reported that he had telegraphed to Lena twelve months leave of absence to commence from that date. On the 5 of April following, der Lena reported his arrival.
...asked for six months extension from the Commencement of his original leave and applies for a further extension of six months, making in all two years.
Staff... it is clear that Mr Lena will not be able to resume his duties at the expiration of his present leave, but if there is some prospect of his ultimate recovery & ability to return at the end of the time?

I think in Bey. Lena's case it seems to hold out, as so framed as to give that hope, see particularly the report of Dr Bacchus: it must be pointed out that no further leave can be allowed after the expiry of his current leave, till he actually joins.
With the proviso that to grant... a further leave being... His recommendations are... This should be granted? Adm. in 10 strong, that put... km 8.17.
