YESTERDAY'S STATEMENTS..
HEAVY THROUGH FREIGHTS.
Hoary freights for part beyond were registered an steamers passing through Hong Kong during the 24 hours ended at 9 am."yesterday. There was a total tonnage of 33,148 of general cargo on 18 yamels, but cargo for the Colony re-i mained below the average.
General merchandise discharged hero amounted to 4,090 tons, of which British vessals contributed 2,093 tons. The best returns were 1,026 tons brought by the as uroran Maru, a Japanese vessel, from Yokohama and Moji, and 880 tons ex ss. Sinkiang (B. & S.) trom Shang- hai and Amoy.
For ports beyond there were 33,146 tons of oral cargo manifested, of which, 8,070 tons were on British steamers, The Suwa Maru, from Middlesborough and Singapore had 7,826 tons, the Carmathen- shire, from Yokohama and Shanghai, 8,329 tons and the a: Muroran Varu 4,343 tons.
