V.D.A. Sunday.... November 21st is. the date fixed for the observance of V.D.A. Sunday, both in the Chinese and Colonial churches of Valley. ré-

the Colony. Throughout that day the services will be of a special character and sermons will be preached on the work and needs of the diocese. The collections will be for diocesan purposes.

The only lasting memorial to those who' fell is a living one the growth of better world; the rebirth of human life.

Unless Armistice Day has some ligious background it will die. Here in Hongkong I think we need, in addition to the crowd that throngs the cenotaph, right and impressive as that is, the quiet and stillness of the Church and I hope that as years go by we shall witness not a slackening off but an increase in the

& MACAO religious observance of the day.

The exotic picture, "The Eagle,' having concluded a successful run its place has been taken by Her Sister From Paris, which will be screened at the Queen's Theatre until to-morrow. This picture is superbly taken, the scenes are well shot, and the custumes, worn depict: the latest vogue, In every way the picture is one that thoroughly pleases.

A short service for young people will be held in the afternoon, and will be bilingual-in English and Chinese. The Bishop will preach at the, evensong service,

The collections throughout this day will be on behalf of a new Chinese church which is to be built at Youmati. Already $17,000 has been promised to-

ward this purpose, practically all from Chinese sources. The church is badly needed. It is noticeable that within the last three years it has been necessary to enlarge both St. Stephen's and St. Paul's Chinese churches. The need of an adequate church to replace the present Mission Church in Yaumati is urgent.

At Kowloon

At St. Andrew's Church, Kowloon, on Y.D.A Sunday the Bishop of Victoria will preach at the morning service at 13 o'clock, following. Holy Communion at 8.15 a.m. There will be a united service for Young People in the afternoon, when representatives from all the Chinese Institutions and Diocesan Schools in Kowloon will be present. The evening service will be taken by the Rer. N. V. Halvard, M.C. (Diocesan Chaplain).

The choir will render special music both at the morning and evening services, and also in the evening there will be a short organ recital incorporated with the service. Full details of this will be issued later
