Lieut. Colonel L. J. Comyn, C.M.G., D.SO., who is in command of the 2nd Battalion of the King's Own Scottish #gon of the late Mr. Andrew Nugent Comyn, of Ballinderry Co, Gailway, Ireland, was educated at Clongowes Wood College and Dublin University.
He joined the Connaught Rangers la 1509, became Lieutenant in 1900, Captain in 1908, Major in 1915, and

FUNCTIONS.-
The dance season is now getting into
full swing, and there were three functions of this nature on Saturday night.
Memories of convivial gatherings cl 1925 and earlier in the Hongkong Hotel were recalled on the ocession of the re- opening of the Roof Garden and ball- room. The attendance was excellent, and a very pleasant evening was spent, thanks to a capital menu, the fine floor, and the attractive music.
A successful dance, the first of the season, was held at the Craigengower Cricket Club. Everything tended to the comfort of the members and friends, thanks to the work done by the dance committee. All present spent a enjoyable evening

There was a large attendance at the Cafe Parisien on the occasion of the grand carnival dinner dansant. A special attraction was the dancing exhibitions given by M. and Mme. Youry Yourlo, ballroom and exhibition dancers, who created a very favourable impression. M and Mme, Youria have been appearing with much success at the Astor House and Plaza Hotels, Shanghai, and have now been booked for a short season at the Café Parisien.
