Mr. A. L. Maglis of his Appointment
Registrar General at Hong Kong and his Application to be compensated for the loss of that
Office, I am

Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's
Treasury to request that You will state to Earl Grey that, adverting to the peculiar circumstances attending this Resignation of Mr Maglis, and to
the Announcement which had been made to him by the
Governor of Hong Kong of the intended Abolition of the Office
