Representatives of the British Trades Union Congress appealed to meet-" ing of the International Federation of Trade Unions held at Amsterdam to grant a loan of £1,000,000 to assist the Union in this country for many of the members of which no work-has-been- available since the general atrike.

The British trade union leaders who made the appeal for the money were Mr. A A Purcell, M.P., president of the International; Mr. W. M. Citrine, the acting secretary of the British Trades Union Congress; and Mr. George Hicks, the president of the National Federation of Building Trade Operatives.
