The British Amateur Golf Champion- ship, which hitherto has been a long suc- cession of surprises to-day reached its elimax by the defeat of one of the two remaining Americans, Bobby Jones, in the sixth round by a comparatively unknown player, A. Jamieson, of Pollok, 4 and Jones yesterday defeated the holder. Risbert Harris, "s and 3, and after this Was strong favourite.

Brownlow defeated Marray by 5 and 4. Jesse Sweetser defeated Scott by two holes.

Simpson beat Killey by two holes.

THE MATCH DEĘCEJAZ.

The weather was sunny, and there was a strongly westerly wind. Jamieson thrilled the large gallery by winning the first two holes, Jones pulling into the rough at the first. He drove into a hazard. at the second and halved the hole
