A special race train leaves Kowloon at 1.15 p.m., returning from Fanling at. 3.39 p.m. Return fares are $1.30 first-class and cents second.
There are five events on the card and not been though declarations have received in all cases, the folds will be approximately as follows:-
TAIPO STEEPLECHASE. The first event, the Taipo Steeplechase,
Drake about 1 miles should attract: (Dr. MacGown), Egbert (Mr. Gould), Harford (Mr. Sewell), New York (Mr. Charles), Durian (Mr. Ralph), Zircon (Mr. Ogilvie), Emperor (Mr. Bousfield) and possibly Two Pairs and Racehorse.
As Mr. Alec Potts is away in Shang, bai, there is some doubt whether his pony Two Pairs will be saddled to-day,
However, there will be ao shortage of riders, although Mr. Reidy's injury will keep him out of the saddle. In addition to the jockeys mentioned above, Captain Sturges, Mr. Brodie, Mr. Stanton, Mr. Sugden, Mr. Turner, Major Bennett and possibly Lt.Cdr. Fanshaw will be avail- able.

Not taking into account Racehorse, who will probably be seen out in the next event, the three best on the book are Egbert. Drake and Zircon. I cannot re- commend New York as I am told he has become more unreliable than Though Mr. Charles may be able to get him round the course, it will probably
