SITUATION AT CALCUTTA MUCH IMPROVED.

CALCUTTA, April 28th. The rioting area is now quiet and the situation has improved, due to “military reinforcing the police and rounding up the roughs. All shops in the Indian quarters remsin elosed and there have been a few stray canes of assault.

The total caaudities since April 2nd are 43 killed, and 373 injured.

The immediate problem. is the removal of accumulated garbage in the streets as the filth is highly conductive to disease in the present weather.
