a great deal of their time without being of any obvious utility. Because of this the Magistrates in a body complained; and the ordinance now submitted is intended to obviate the inconvenience; but at the same time will, I trust,

be found to contain all that is necessary to insure regularity in and a faithful record of their proceedings.

It will also, I trust, be found to be consonant with the principles of Act 11 and 12 Victoria, Cap. 45, now in force throughout England.
