A great deal of the good work done by the Committee of the Association is not only for the benefit of the members bat of the general public. If the work is to be effective it must of necessity be done in a quiet fashion. Ia Great Britain there are two organisations, each with a very large membership, which are of interest to all motorists. One is the Automobile Association and the other is the Royal Automobile Club. There is no need to have two separate institutions for local motorista, and the Hongkong A.A. should attempt to do for its mem-

hers as far as is possible under local conditions what the R.A.C. and A.A. in Britain try to do for motorists at Home. We especially mention the R.A.C. be cause of the great success of its social activities. The huge club house in London is not daly a magnificent building, but is a great rendezvous for motorists. The Hongkong A.A, has made a rather half- hearted attempt to secure a rendezvous in the Hengkong Club building, but it must be confessed that the room provided was unattractive and the effort failed. However, any real lasting success 1 usually built up on the experience gained by carly failures. We venture to make
