The attendance in both the public and members' enclosure was the poorest ex- porenced since the War, and receipts anffered accordingly as will be seen from the comparative tables belog,"
The Chater Cup only attracted four runner, Grey Mara winning as he liked from Saracen.
Five ponics were sent out to oppose Local Option in the Jockey Club Stakes, but failed to make any impression on him despite the poor time in which the race wag gun
For the Racing Stakes, the public were treated to a great finish between Saucy Sue, Sunbeam Dahlia and Endy Love The verdice being a neck; a short head.
Though I fancy Saucy Suo had a good many pounds in hand, Sunbeam Dahlia was unlucky na regards the manner in which the race ended.
The inal event produced another great struggle down the straight, the contest. ants being Rothesay and Epotted Sand.
The latter gained the verdict, but both put up a game struggle to the last stride, This brought a tame day's sport to a conclusion.

As an indication of the poor attendance it is only necessary to state that Wire- man's tiffin room in the members enclo sure was patronized by parcely 60 people yesterday.
Early in the day some little confusion was mused among punters by their, not Having realized that the winning and place totalisators" had been changed. Of course, it cat, both ways for instance those who intended to back Home Call for a place, received 815 instead of 87..
Dividends throughout the day were on the small side as favourites continued to romp home until the tifin bour, up to when proceedings were deathly dull.
In the afternoon, however, matters improved somewhat and three fine struggles were" witnessed.
The officials are to be congratulated upon the smooth running of the day's racing-an especial tribute being due to Colonel Hall Brutton of the masterly manner in which be despatched the field in the Wong Nei Cheong Stakes after 21 minutes' delay.
